Cocoa butter

Name: Cocoa butter

Synonyms: cocoa ext.

Genre: Clean

Cocoa butter is used as a pharmaceutical raw material in a pharmacy recipe, mainly in the production of solids (rectal suppositories, vaginal globules, intravenous stamens) and semi-solid forms of drugs (ointments, creams, lotions, etc.). It was first used in this way by French pharmacist Antoine Baumé in 1750.

Cocoa butter is one of the more stable fats, it contains natural anti-oxidants to prevent rancidity, and consequently allows cocoa butter to be stored without the addition of preservatives for up to five years. Cocoa butter should be protected from light and stored in a non-chopped form at low temperatures. The melting point of cocoa butter is 30-35 ° C.
