Purity: Pure 99.9%
Chemical formula: C6H8O6

Calcium hypochlorite - an inorganic chemical compound, a hypochlorous acid calcium salt.

White solid substance with a characteristic chlorine odor, hygroscopic.

It is obtained by saturating an aqueous solution of calcium hydroxide (limestone) with chlorine gas.

2Ca (OH) 2 + 2 Cl2 → Ca (OCl) 2 + CaCl2 + 2H2O

Chlorinated lime is actually a mixture of hypochlorite and calcium chloride.

utilization
Strong oxidant. In the dry state (after mixing, eg with ethanediol, it ignites), acidic, basic and neutral solutions releases chlorine gas.

It is used to prepare disinfection solutions (including pool water), eg decontamination of baskets, dustbins, chutes, bleaching (also in the paper and textile industry), analytical reagent and for various organic and inorganic syntheses.

The measure of its activity is the content of active chlorine - one-atom chlorine.

A 0.2-0.3% solution is used for disinfection and bleaching.
