Usage

It is used as a reagent, e.g. for the production of borax pearls, as a soldering aid.

The most important industrial application of borax is the production of glass, glazes, ceramics and glass wool as well as the production of sodium perborate (NaBO3), used in large quantities, especially in Europe, as a bleach in detergents. In addition, it is used inter alia as a flux for welding and soldering and a component of fertilizers. In households, it is used, for example, to control insects, cleaning agent, disinfectant and deodorizer.
